Email tasks fail after an unsuccessful SQL 2005 installation

I tried installing SQL 2005 Dev Edition on my Win 2000 Professional machine. That failed. But now I cannot send out emails or even open a simple Email task from DTS. This is something that worked perfectly fine before I attempted the SQL 2005 installation. It seems that the SQL 2005 installation somehow messed up the the MAPI profile. The exact error message that I get when trying to execute or open a Email task in DTS is: CAnnot load MAPI Interface layer for DTS. Please make sure that semmap90.dll is installed.

Can someone tell me how to fix this issue.

The other option is to download and install the "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components" from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=d09c1d60-a13c-4479-9b91-9e8b9d835cdc&DisplayLang=en. This will install the latest version of the overlapping DLLs.

Edition Server. We setup some maintenance jobs under Database Maintenance
and would like to setup e-mail notification. When we setup notifications,
we got the following error message: "Error 22022: SQLServerAgent Error:
The SQLServer Agent mail session is not running; check the mail profile
and/or the SQLServerAgent service startup account in the SQLServerAgent
Properties dialog." What do we need to do? Please let us know if you need

You have to interactively login as thye service account that SQL is running
under and install Outlook and configure a mapi profile. If you are still
running as localsystem, you'll need to switch to a service account for it to
work. The SQL Server service account maust have rights to access the mapi
profile.

email delivery in ssrs developer edition

is subscription using E-mail delivery possible in SSRS developer edition? act in the option for "Delivered By" in "New Subscription", only "Windows file share" is coming....

Hi.

Developer Edition gives you the same feature set as Enterprise, just with a license that does not allow use in a production environment.

If the email delivery option is not showing within SSRS, then it normally indicates the email settings have not been configured i.e. you must setup an SMTP server.

To check/configure this you use the Reporting Services Configuration Manager; check the Email Settings config (second from the bottom on the left) - once those have been completed correctly and the Email Settings shows a green tick, you should find email delivery is available for subscriptions.

Also, if you CC or Bcc an external address the process fails.

I assume this is a restriction on the developer edition.

can somebody help me to setup email alerts in SQL Server 2000 standard edition whenever, backup is successful OR failed to complete.

I'll assume you're doing scheduled backups via SQL Server Agent

1. Configure SQL Server to use SQL Mail (Check Books Online SQL Mail)

2. Add an operator to SQL Server Agent with the relevant email address

3. In your SQL Job, notifications tab, check the box to email, select your operator and also selec to alert whenever the job completes.

Hi! I want to set a workgroup. For now group includes 5 user and in future
user count may be 10-12. Which edition of sql server will best fit my needs.
Specially for performance issues..

edition requirements for log shipping

I know that Enterprise Ed is required for Log Shipping. But is that on both
boxes or just the primary? Also, any links to people that have wrote they're
own LS would be appreciated.
