I am using an embedded image of a signature on my report. It is a small
.jpg. When I run and print the report, everything is ok. When I try to
export it to pdf, the report stops rendering the report when it gets to the
image. I am using Adobe v.7. I tried this using Adobe v.5 and the whole
report renders except the signature image. Does anyone have an idea how i
can get around this?I found the answer was to change the embedded image from a .jpg format to a
.bmp format. I guess that adobe has a had time renedering images that were
in .jpg format.

EM slows windows
Often, EM running on my desktop will cause all other
windows either to refresh very slowly or not at all. (I
may get a border with some of the display) I can't
navigate to any window completely until I shut down EM.
SQL 2000 running on Win2k.
Thanks.
One possibility is that you have ODBC tracing turned on. You
can check by going to Administrative Tools and then to the
ODBC Data Source Administrator. Click on the Tracing tab. If
caption on the command button says "Stop Tracing Now", click
that button. That will turn off ODBC tracing.

Effect on snapshots while reindexing
Does someone know if doing a reindex on a clustered or non-clustered index cause the snapshot file to grow? In other words, is the data that makes up the snapshot copied from the source to the snapshot database? If a normal reindex is done on the underlying database, will it block users from acessing the snapshot? Any help would be appreciated.
All the pages changed by the reindexing would be pushed to the snapshot so its files would grow. It should not cause any blocking in the snapshot, though there can be a significant increase in the IO load.
