<smtpserver>192.168.1.100</smtpserver> value and a <from>from@.test.com</from>
value. Then a subscription was made, however no email was sent. I'm using
Windows 2003 a
What kinds of troubleshooting can be done to fix this problem?
Thanks,
JimAdditional Information:
SP1 is installed and the email extension has been configured.

Emailed Reports in Blackberry

Does anyone have a way to get reports that are emailed out via the
Subscriptions service as a WebArchive to appear normally in a
Blackberry? Each element in a row in a table gets put into a new line.
It looks fine in any normal email interface, but not in a Blackberry.
e.g.
Row1Col1 Row1Col2
Row2Col1 Row2Col2
will display in the Blackberry as
Row1Col1
Row1Col2
Row2Col1
Row2Col2
There seems to be a <p> tag in the raw html in each table item.
Any help is much appreciated. On Oct 3, 4:29 pm, TGav <cara...@.gmail.com> wrote:

You might try changing the report format to accommodate the
Blackberry. Also, you might want to look into a different export
option and/or a different type solution that possibly is geared toward
Visual Studio on Mobile Devices. Sorry that I could not be of greater
assistance.

Email with attachments.

I have just setup a new Reporting Service Server. I loaded a page then I created a subscription which will email and excel document of the report out.

Each time the subscription runs I am getting this error below:

Failure sending mail: The report server has encountered a configuration error. See the report server log files for more information.Failure sending mail: The report server has encountered a configuration error. See the report server log files for more information.

When I take out the attachment on the email and just have it send the link the email runs fine with no errors. Is there some type of setup that needs to be done with the server side to have it send attachments?

Please let me know. Thanks

Ken, any luck with this problem?

I'm having the same issue - can email fine when only sending a link in the report subscription, but send fails when attempting to include an attachment. Just getting the following logon failure in the report server logs:

Yes. The 'Log On' account that your SQL Server Reporting Services service runs under must have permissions to send email via your smtp server.

1. Open Admin Tools > Services on your report server and find the SQL Server Reporting Services service.

2. Double click the service and go to the Log On properties tab to determine the service account.

3. Set permissions on your smtp server to allow the service account to send email.

Email subscription. Dynamic field of From.

hi,
I have a console application calling reporting service to generate email
subscription. It works but the email from field always show the fix address
in RSReportServer.config. Is there a way I can programmable change the From
field with my code?
Please suggest.
regards,
JoeNo, the from field can not be changed. You can change the Reply-To field.

request. You can usually use the reply-to header to achieve what you're
looking for.

email report

Hi,
I have an issue with emailing a report.
I am using SQL 2005 reporting service, and schedule a report to be sent to
my email account. The log in report subscription showed the report has been
sent successful, but I never receive the report. Where could the problem be?

Do you have a firewall that could be blocking the .rdl extension?

email notification

I tried to setup email notification, but the mssqlserver
uses a local account. How do you set up email
notification if the mssqlserver service is using a local
account. Thanks. You can't. you have to use a domain account that has an e-mail account in
what erver MAPI provider mail system (insert the phrase Exchange) you are
using. I typically use the same account for the Agent mail as the SQL Mail
and that is what I use for the service account for both...

Email delivery not functioning

I am trying to set up automatic email delivery on our production reporting
server which runs on version 1.0 with no service pack. I modified the
RSReportServer.config to make sure the SMTP server specification is correct.
The SQL server job created says it runs successfully. But no email ever
sent out. What could be wrong? And where can I find the log file that
recording this activity? Is it a SQL log?
Same set up has worked on my development machine, which has sp1 installed.
But I want to avoid installing sp1 on production unless I am sure that's the
cause.
-- XuefengLook for the log file name ReportServerService<date>.log file. It should be
located under \Program file\Microsoft Sql Server\ReportingService\Logfiles

Email Delivery

I'm using the web service to run reports from an application. However, I don't want to wait for a report to complete; I would like to just have the report emailed to the user when it is complete. I've only found email delivery through subscriptions. Is there another way to deliver reports via email?

If I have to use subscriptions I would like to set them to run "immediately". I've found that setting the start date to sometime in the past does not seem to run the report. Is there some way to set a schedule to run immediately. I've thought of setting the time to the near future, but I seem to have the problem of getting the proper timestamp. Can I get this through the web service some how?

Thanks,

Sam

No there is no such functionality. As you are creating a subscription, as job is created at the SQL Server Agent Service which will keep track of the execution of it, therefore setting the value to a past datetime won′t effect the execution.

email a pdf report

I don't know if this is a bug or not. I have SP1 and used the web
service to render the report in PDF format. The report renders fine
but when I click on the email button it asks me if I want to email the
url or the report itself. I choose the latter. When it attached the
report in the email, I notice that the extension of the report is aspx
and not PDF. So, I test the email by sending it to myself. I have to
save the report as PDF extension in order to view as PDF otherwise it
me garbage. I wonder this is a bug. Thanks.I assume you are using your own ASP.NET application that calls the RS web
service then displays the result to your users. Your application needs to
set the ContentType property of the ASP.NET response object, and perhaps the
content-disposition HTTP header. Doing this will tell IE how to display the
data your page is returning.
